ArtEdge Artificial Lawn Edging

For all the right reasons artificial lawns have become an established and accepted alternative to natural grass.

There are many companies manufacturing and selling artificial lawns but until now there has not been a good quality yet cost effective purpose designed artificial lawn edging available.

Edging Built To Last

Gardeners and installers of artificial lawns tend to use wooden battening for the edging, this is not ideal of course because the wood will rot in a short period of time leaving you with a difficult problem to solve. Other options to date have been to use expensive unforgiving steel edging which is prone to rust of course or even to use edging designed for natural grass which quite simply will not work for artificial grass which needs a different approach.

Our unique Artedge edging for artificial lawns is exactly that and designed for the job. Made from high quality and strong virgin HDPE plastic Artedge is frost, acid and soil resistant, UV stable and is guaranteed for ten years. Artedge is flexible enough to be worked around quite complex curves allowing you to design pleasing edgings, beds and pathways.

Unlike natural grass, artificial lawns need a “shelf” at the edges in order for the lawn to be glued and or pinned the these shelves both to hold the edge firmly in place but also to allow the lawn to be tensioned as it is laid into position. In many ways this is much like laying a carpet.
Perfect For Trade Installers

Artedge is supplied in convenient rolls in 10m, 20m and 50m lengths, trade installers can easily keep a roll in the back of the van and pull off the required length at each job.

The product itself is 140mm high and has a series of 40mm spikes at the bottom. These spikes are set into the ground (usually a small trench is dug and then backfilled). The ground and substrate is then compacted ready for the lawn. Artedge has a series of precut tabs 10mm down from the top edge, the tabs are folded out to form the shelf for the edge of the lawn to sit on. It is not always necessary to fold out every tab it depends on the individual job, on a straight run for example you can usually open out alternate tabs. Each tab has two 5mm holes drilled through it, once folded out the tabs form the shelf to which the lawn can be bonded or pinned to. The preferred and stronger option is to pin the lawn through the tabs and down into the soil beneath. 100mm pins are included with each roll.
